Job description for Specialist Port Captain at Muliabara Group

Ensure safe and efficient marine operations, vessel movement, and barge handling at the coal terminal > 8078

What You'll Handle

  • Oversee barge and vessel movements from coal handling jetty to Kota Bangun Port, including departure, voyage, berthing, shifting, and return.
  • Monitor shipment progress, vessel position, weather, tide, river traffic, and other marine conditions.
  • Assess navigational risks, vessel stability, seaworthiness, draft, and route conditions.
  • Coordinate with tugboat operators, barge crews, agents, port authorities, jetty teams, and Kota Bangun Port operations.
  • Ensure compliance with marine safety, shipping regulations, and port requirements.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's/Diploma IV in Nautical Studies or Marine Transportation, with Nautical background strongly preferred; Relevant marine/deck officer certification is an advantage.
  • 3-5 years of experience in marine, port, jetty, or barge operations, preferably involving inland/river transportation or bulk cargo shipment.
  • Strong knowledge of vessel/barge operations, marine safety, navigation, berthing, stability, weather/tide conditions, and coordination of tugboats, crews, port authorities, and jetty-to-port shipments.
