Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily floor operations and ensure smooth and efficient service throughout the shift.
- Greet and welcome guests, provide menu recommendations, and ensure a consistently high standard of guest service.
- Take and coordinate food and beverage orders accurately, ensuring they are properly communicated to the kitchen and bar.
- Monitor table setup, service flow, food and beverage delivery, and table turnover to maintain service standards.
- Handle guest requests, complaints, and special requirements professionally, resolving issues when possible and escalating them to the Restaurant Supervisor when necessary.
- Support and guide Waiters/Waitresses in their daily tasks and ensure service procedures are followed consistently.
- Conduct or assist with pre-shift briefings, including menu updates, promotions, special requests, and service priorities.
- Actively support upselling and promotional activities to achieve restaurant sales targets.
- Monitor the cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the dining area, service stations, and guest areas throughout the shift.
- Coordinate closely with the kitchen, bar, and cashier teams to ensure smooth service operations and minimize errors.
- Assist the Restaurant Supervisor in monitoring service quality, staff performance, and operational issues during the shift.
- Assist in training and onboarding new Waiters/Waitresses when required.
- Perform other operational or ad hoc duties as assigned by the Restaurant Supervisor or Management.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience as a Waiter/Waitress or in a similar restaurant/hospitality role.
- Previous experience in a Senior Waiter, Captain Waiter, or similar leadership role is preferred.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of restaurant service procedures, food and beverage products, and guest service standards.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to lead, guide, and support junior service staff while maintaining a positive team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident in upselling and promoting menu items.
- Professional appearance, good grooming, and a positive attitude.
- Reliable, responsible, and able to make appropriate decisions during service.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Willingness to stay and work in Gili Air.
