Responsibilities

People Leadership

1. Conduct regular 1:1s focused on individual growth, blockers, and direction.
2. Build and maintain a personal development plan for each team member.
3. Lead hiring process end to end.
4. Resolve team conflict and interpersonal issues directly.
5. Establish team culture and system.
6. Own the onboarding process for new members.

Delivery Accountability

1. Own team delivery outcomes (scope, quality and timeline).
2. Identify and manage delivery risks before they become a blocker.
3. Enforces engineering standards across the team.
4. Maintain workload based on actual team capacity.

Technical Oversight

1. Actively participate in code reviews and technical discussions to ensure quality.
2. Unblock team members on technical issues.
3. Represent team capacity and technical constraints in planning and commitment discussions.

Qualification

1. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent practical experience.
2. At least 7 years of total experience in backend software engineering.
3. At least 2 years where you were genuinely responsible for how a team ran (team/squad leader).
4. A hands-on background in backend development.
5. Familiar with how modern engineering teams work.
6. Experienced mentoring engineers with visible outcomes.
7. Able to handle difficult conversations on performance, conflict and expectations.
8. Communicates clearly in technical and non-technical sides.
9. Makes decisions confidently under unclear information, has ambiguity and owns the tradeoffs.

Preferred

1. Directly managed 3 or more engineers with formal reporting lines.
2. Prior experience in a tech or product company with a structured engineering career ladder.
3. Familiar with monitoring tools.
4. Comfortable with project tracking tools (Jira or ClickUp), and team communication.
5. Experienced work with databases.
6. Proficient with development tools such as Git, Docker, and Linux/CLI.

Plus Point

1. Have professional experience in infrastructure or deployment applications.
2. Have experiences in multiple languages of technologies.
