Job description for Senior QA at Lign Co
Lign is a pre-seed fintech startup on a mission to build the AI‑first spend and expense management platform for the next generation of businesses in Indonesia. As our first QA Engineer, you own end-to-end quality for Lign’s AI-first spend and expense management platform in Indonesia. You will define the 0→1 quality strategy, quality gates and release criteria, and build fast, reliable CI/CD for mobile, web, and backend services. Act as an owner and partner closely with engineering, product, and commercial teams to ensure that quality stays high and meets the needs of our users, but still maintain the speed of execution to lap our competitors.
What You’ll Do:
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for mobile (Android/iOS) and web apps, including backend services, for fast feedback cycles.
- Create, maintain, and execute test scenarios across UI, API, data, and AI pipelines; prioritize automation-first execution with thoughtful manual validations where automation is impractical.
- Design and own an AI-first QA practice: implement LLM evals, prompt testing, synthetic data and test case generation, property testing and guardrails for AI features such as receipt extraction, categorization, anomaly detection, and reconciliation.
- Develop full-stack automation: mobile UI tests, web E2E tests, API/contract tests, performance/load tests, and data integrity checks for financial workflows (limits, approvals, QRIS flows, ledger events).
- Partner with engineering, product, and compliance to ensure testability, resilience, and auditability for high-availability payments and expense features.
- Champion a culture of “shift-left” quality with code review standards, test data management, mocking/stubbing strategies, and deterministic pipelines.
- Be an advocate for the user in making sure their sensitive data always stays protected.
Requirements:
- Proficient in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Experience & Stack: 5+ years in test automation with strong proficiency in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Mobile Automation: Expertise in mobile testing frameworks like Maestro, Appium, or Flutter Integration Test. You can reliably automate complex user flows across iOS and Android devices.
- API & Backend: Strong grasp of API testing, including REST endpoints. Comfortable defining and implementing testing suites for systems that have multiple third-party service dependencies with variable reliability.
- CI/CD: Experience integrating automated suites into pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools. You ensure tests act as a reliable gatekeeper for rapid deployments.
- Automation Strategy & ROI: You demonstrate strong judgment on the trade-off between manual testing and automation in an early-stage environment. You prioritize automating critical paths while accepting manual validation for volatile features to maintain velocity.
Bonus Points - Prior experience in Fintech and domain knowledge of accounting ledgers, payment gateways, and real-time transaction flows.
Bonus Points - Experience defining quality strategies metrics for non-deterministic AI features like OCR or LLM outputs.
