Job description for Senior QA Engineer at Automation Consulting

About the Role
We’re looking for a sharp, detail-obsessed QA Engineer who can own quality across manual, automation, and performance testing. You’ll work closely with engineers to make sure our systems hold up under real-world conditions — not just the happy path.
Responsibilities
• Perform manual testing (functional, regression, edge cases)
• Build and maintain automated tests (API & UI)
• Run load and performance testing using k6
• Write clear, structured test cases and test plans
• Investigate bugs and support root cause analysis
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure end-to-end system quality
Requirements
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Highly detail-oriented — you don’t stop at the happy path
• Hands-on experience in:
• Manual testing
• Automation testing (API/UI)
• Load testing (k6 or equivalent)
• Solid understanding of:
• API testing (REST, webhooks)
• Basic database knowledge (PostgreSQL) for data validation
• End-to-end system flows
Nice to Have
• Experience with payment or fintech systems
• Familiarity with concepts like:
• Idempotency & retry logic
• Payment lifecycle (initiation → processing → settlement)
• Experience with tools like Postman and CI/CD pipelines
