YYT Games works with video game developers around the world to cook up innovative video games with the heart of beloved classics. We created the Fallen Legion series, the first console video games for PlayStation and Nintendo developed in Indonesia. Our games unite Hollywood talent, creative worlds, and international publishers.
What you’ll do
- Work with a fully remote team of experienced game designers, programmers, artists, and producers to create video games
- Lead the design of game mechanics, gameplay systems, levels, player items, battles, and progression
- Create clear game design documents that communicate scenarios, characters, rules, objectives, systems, and implementation details
- Prototype, test, and refine gameplay ideas using Unity and internal developer tools
- Balance game difficulty, player actions, rewards, progression, and pacing to create an engaging player experience
- Give design direction and feedback to help improve gameplay quality across the project
- Collaborate closely with programmers and artists to bring characters, enemies, items, levels, and gameplay features to life
- Conduct playtesting, analyze player feedback, identify design problems, and propose practical solutions
- Help improve the team’s game design process, documentation, and design standards
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, design references, and advancements in game design technology.
We’re looking for a team member who is
- Has at least 3 years of experience in game design
- Has completed and shipped at least one video game
- Proficient in English and Indonesian
- Self-directed, responsible, and a natural problem solver
- Experienced in designing game systems for professional, internship, or serious personal projects
- Strong in Unity and familiar with using developer tools to implement gameplay ideas
- Has a deep understanding of game mechanics, gameplay progression, combat design, and level design
- Able to design, prototype, test, and iterate on gameplay features with minimal supervision
- Able to collaborate effectively with a remote team
- Able to give and receive constructive feedback
- Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Has excellent time management skills
- Passionate about making exceptional games
Bonus points if you
- Have created user-generated content, a gameplay mod, or custom levels for an existing game
- Have developed combat mechanics for an action video game
- Are experienced using visual scripting tools to create a finite state machine or behavior tree
- Have experience with programming languages such as C++, C#, or Java
- Have experience mentoring junior designers or giving design feedback to other team members
- Have worked on console, PC, or internationally released games
