Job Title: Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Frontend + Backend)

About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join our established product engineering team building a large-scale enterprise platform. In this hands-on delivery role, you will own features end-to-end—from the API and data layer through to the user interface. Working in an agile, short-sprint environment, you will collaborate closely with our UI/UX designer, fellow engineers, and product owner to take paired frontend and backend stories from design to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and ship product features end-to-end across both the frontend and backend, within a two-week sprint cadence.
- Translate Figma designs into responsive, accessible, pixel-accurate interfaces using the team's design system and component library.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs, business logic, and data-layer changes on the backend.
- Own paired frontend + backend stories, handling the integration between the two layers yourself.
- Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and review other engineers' pull requests, helping keep the quality bar high.
- Guide technical decisions on the features you own and support other engineers through code reviews, pairing, and design discussions.
- Keep your work visible and up to date on the team's boards, branches, and pull requests in Azure DevOps.
- Communicate progress, blockers, and technical decisions clearly and proactively in a distributed, async team.
Required Skills & Experience
- Professional Experience: 5+ years of professional software development experience, demonstrating real depth across both frontend and backend domains.
- Frontend Stack: Deep, production-level experience with React and Next.js (App Router). Comfortable working in a strict, typed TypeScript production codebase. Experienced with component-driven UI development using Tailwind CSS and client-side data fetching/state management (e.g., TanStack / React Query). Skilled at turning Figma designs into responsive, accessible interfaces with an eye for consistency, hierarchy, WCAG AA, and dark-mode support.
- Backend Stack: Strong backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot. Proficient in designing and building well-structured RESTful APIs, working with relational databases and SQL, and executing sound data modeling. Experienced with authentication, authorization, and role/permission handling.
- Engineering Practice: Confident with Git workflows, branching, pull requests, and code reviews. Experience working in Scrum/agile environments with issue trackers like Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar. Proficient in writing unit and integration tests with a genuine care for code quality, maintainability, and working within a CI/CD pipeline.
- AI-Assisted Development: Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants, especially Claude Code, and tools such as Cursor or GitHub Copilot. Able to drive AI tools with clear, structured prompts to scaffold, refactor, debug, and document code. Proven ability to review and verify AI-generated output rather than accepting it blindly, maintaining full ownership of code quality. Passionate about using AI to speed up tests, documentation, and repetitive work to continuously sharpen development workflows.
- Ways of Working: Self-managed, reliable, and comfortable with async communication across time zones. Able to own your work with light oversight, flag risks or blockers early, and demonstrate clear written English alongside a collaborative mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in compliance, monitoring, or other data-heavy enterprise platforms.
- Exposure to data-pipeline concepts (ingestion and processing layers).
- Familiarity with design systems and design tokens.
- Cloud deployment experience.
- A proven track record of working effectively in a fully remote, distributed team.
What Success Looks Like (First 3 to 6 Months)
- Ramps up on the codebase and paired frontend + backend stories independently within the first couple of sprints.
- Consistently delivers reviewed, tested features for every sprint.
- Uses AI-assisted workflows to increase throughput while keeping code quality high.
- Becomes a trusted senior contributor the team can hand a complex feature to end-to-end, with minimal oversight.
