Job description for Senior Fullstack / Backend Engineer at Lign Co
Lign is a pre-seed fintech company building the definitive financial operating system for businesses in Indonesia. We are creating a tech-enabled, AI-first platform and are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to be a founding member of our engineering team. You will be responsible for creating robust, secure, and scalable systems to power the future of B2B finance in Indonesia.
As one of our first Senior Software Engineers, you will not just write code; you are a co-creator of our product, culture, and technical vision. This role requires a passion for building high-quality products, comfort with the ambiguity of an early-stage venture, and excitement for the challenge of creating something from nothing. You will have immense ownership and impact, tackling complex technical challenges in payments, data, and core financial services.
What You'll Do:
- Design, build, and maintain the core systems for Lign’s platform, be it Next JS front-ends, FastAPI backends, or Terraform based infrastructure provisioning in GCP.
- Take full ownership of the software development lifecycle—from technical design and development to testing, deployment, and operating services in production.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and the founding team to transform user needs into elegant and scalable technical solutions.
- Establish and champion high engineering standards, bringing consistency and best practices to our codebase, infrastructure, and processes from day one.
- Help grow the engineering team by recruiting great engineers and mentoring future hires.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of professional experience in a software engineering role, with a strong background in backend development.
- Proven experience building and designing scalable, distributed systems.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages, ideally (e.g. Typescript, Python, Java, Go).
- A high degree of ownership and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous pre-seed startup environment.
Bonus: Direct experience in the fintech, banking, or payments industry.
