1. Ensure that the activities in the career calendar for Grades 10 to 12 are adhered to;
2. Evaluate students’ abilities and interests by looking at their Gr 10 assessments, interviews and individual planning;
3. Conduct career counseling to students by finding out their interests, favorite subjects, interesting careers and universities for students; and incorporating results of their career assessment in Grade 10;
4. Follow-up on information needed by students ( university, subject choice)
5. Help students create a plan to achieve academic and career goals;
6. Ensure all cases are noted;
7. Ensure all cases are kept confidential;
8. Conduct workshops for the different Grades to develop career planning for the different grade levels;
9. Educate students on CV writing, Personal Statements, interview skills and professionalism;
10. Write students’ reference letter in a timely manner( 5 working days);
11. Set up deadlines for the checking of personal statements and motivational letters;
12. Send students’ transcripts, reference letters and whatever information needed on platforms such as Common App, UCAS etc;
13. Send weekly Career and university updates on Managebac;
14. Maintain students’ Calfo accounts and that students are doing their university research in coming up with their long, and short list as well as sending announcements to students;
15. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to help students succeed;
16. Closely work with IB coordinator to find out of students who would like to transfer from DP to certificate or switch subjects;
17. Seek permission from administrators regarding the organizing of major events such as University Fair, Career Days and workshops;
18. Collaborate with the Senior and Junior Socio Emotional counselor in conducting the interviews for the IB preparation of Grade 10 students;
19. Organize annual events such as University Fair and Career Day;
20. Maintain students’ alumni/ final university choice information;
21. Maintain students’ university acceptance information;
22. Active in organizations such as NISC (Network of International School Counselors), ACAC etc;
23. Maintain close contact with embassy representatives;
24. Liase with university representatives in conducting workshops; Parents:
25. Liase with parents in terms of universities that their children aspire to register to;
26. Liase with parents in the universities that their children would like to register to;
