Job description for Sales & Consignment Manager at The OCX
About OCX
OCX (Open Collectible Exchange) is building the trust layer for Southeast Asia's trading card and collectibles market, combining AI-powered pre-grading, escrow protection, vault custody, and a cross-border consignment marketplace. We're an infrastructure play, not just another marketplace: think of us as the stock exchange for collectibles. We’re scaling our on-the-ground consignment and sales function to capture it.
The Role
We're looking for a mid-level, sales-driven Sales & Consignment Manager to take ownership of OCX's Jakarta-based consignment and sales function. This is a hands-on, in-person role - you'll be closing deals on the ground, not managing a pipeline from behind a screen.
You'll wear three hats: leading and developing a team of junior sales executives, personally closing higher-value and more complex consignor relationships, and building the B2B partnerships (card stores, tenants, community organizers) that create a constant, strategic supply of inventory - not just one-off wins. Everything ladders up to one number: GMV growth through higher-liquidity, higher-quality supply.
What matters most for this hire proven ability to close deals face-to-face, and the instinct and coachability to grow into leading a team. You do not need to already have run a sales team - we'll train you on that, and on OCX's specific playbook, product, and market. What we can't train is whether you can actually close.
Key Responsibilities
1. Direct High-Value Consignment Sales (core of the role)
- Personally manage and close higher-value or complex consignor relationships - top-tier collectors, high-value single cards
- Represent OCX in person at events and community touchpoints, leading by example on the ground
- Be the benchmark the junior team is coached against - you close, they watch, they learn
2. B2B Supply & Partnership Development
- Identify, pitch, and close partnerships with card stores, mall/event tenants, and community organizers to build a constant, strategic supply pipeline - not just individual consignments
- Negotiate consignment and partnership terms directly with store owners and organizers
- Build a repeatable partner-acquisition motion the team can eventually run without you in the room
3. Team Leadership & Development *(grows into this - not required on day one)
- Coach the day-to-day performance of the junior Consignment & Sales Executives, learning to lead as you go
- Help refine the sales SOP/scripts (booth and outreach flows) - sit in on real conversations, correct in real time
- Track the team's funnel: leads engaged → pain point surfaced → accounts created → consignments closed
- Own the weekly reporting cadence and post-event debriefs, and turn recurring issues into fixed process, not repeated problems
4. GMV & Strategic Ownership
- Own GMV targets for the consignment/sales function
- Continuously evaluate channels (events vs. outreach vs. partnerships) and reallocate effort toward what actually drives liquidity - cut what isn't working
- Feed ground-level market intel (pricing trends, competitor activity, supply gaps) back to leadership
---
What We're Looking For
- Proven, in-person deal-closing ability - 3+ years in sales or business development, with a genuine track record of closing face-to-face, not purely digital or telesales
- Coachable and sales-driven- someone who wants an uncapped-upside role and is energized by hitting a number, not just clocking activity
- Strong communication and negotiation skills; able to build trust quickly with both individual collectors and business owners
- Based in or willing to relocate to Jakarta; full-time WFO
- Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia; working proficiency in English
Nice to Have
- Prior experience managing, mentoring, or training junior sales staff (a plus, not a requirement - we'll develop this)
- Existing network within the trading card / collectibles / hobby retail community
- Experience in marketplace, auction house, consignment, or B2B partnership sales
- Track record of scaling a small sales team from junior to hitting target
