Job description for Roblox Scripter (Luau) at Krenovator Sdn Bhd
Role summary
Build the gameplay mechanics and technical systems behind our branded Roblox experiences. We are hiring one Senior Scripter to lead technical architecture and code quality, and one Mid-level Scripter to develop and maintain gameplay features within the Roblox ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Develop gameplay systems in Luau using Roblox Studio, including game mechanics, progression, rewards, leaderboards, quests, and live events.
- Implement player data persistence using DataStoreService, reliable client-server communication, and secure networking.
- Develop Roblox-specific features such as avatar interactions, in-game shops, Game Passes, Developer Products, and UGC item integrations where required by the campaign.
- Implement appropriate advertising disclosure and age-related content controls using relevant Roblox APIs and platform policies.
- Integrate analytics and tracking events to measure player engagement, retention, session duration, and other client KPIs.
- Optimise scripts, assets, and network performance for mobile devices and a range of hardware capabilities.
- Debug, test, and maintain published Roblox experiences, including post-launch fixes, live-ops updates, and feature improvements.
- Collaborate with Creative Directors, Environment Artists, UI Artists, and Producers to translate game design documents into functional Roblox experiences.
- Senior only: Establish coding standards, review code, design system architecture, identify technical risks, and mentor the Mid-level Scripter.
Requirements
- Mid-level: At least 2 years of hands-on scripting experience in Roblox Studio.
- Senior: At least 4 years of Roblox scripting experience, including technical ownership of a shipped experience.
- Strong proficiency in Luau, including modular programming, object-oriented programming patterns, RemoteEvents, and RemoteFunctions.
- Practical understanding of Roblox's client-server architecture, server authority, exploit prevention, and secure handling of player data.
- Experience with Roblox services and APIs, including DataStoreService and relevant commerce or analytics services.
- Familiarity with version control and collaborative development workflows using Git, Rojo, or equivalent tools.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a Roblox game development team and deliver production-ready, maintainable code.
Nice to have
- Experience maintaining live Roblox experiences with high concurrent users (CCU) or long-running live-ops programmes.
- Familiarity with Roblox Creator Hub, platform analytics, and A/B testing.
- Experience developing branded, sponsored, or advertising-driven Roblox experiences.
- Familiarity with Roblox advertising policies, age-appropriate content requirements, and platform compliance.
Portfolio required
Provide links to Roblox experiences you have scripted, describing your specific technical contributions, systems developed, and measurable results where available. Include relevant code samples or a GitHub repository if available.
Shortlisted candidates will complete a short paid scripting assessment.
