WE ARE HIRING — RESTAURANT ACCOUNTANT
We are seeking an experienced and high-caliber Restaurant Accountant to join our team for the opening of our new restaurant.
We are looking for a highly organized, detail oriented, and reliable accounting professional with strong experience in high-end, high volume, or high quality restaurant operations.
The ideal candidate understands that restaurant accounting goes beyond bookkeeping. You should have a strong understanding of cost control, inventory, purchasing, daily revenue, financial reporting, and overall restaurant financial performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and oversee the restaurant’s daily accounting and financial activities.
- Prepare and maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
- Monitor daily sales, cash flow, payments, and revenue reconciliation.
- Perform daily reconciliation of POS sales, cash, credit cards, online payments, and other payment channels.
- Monitor food cost, beverage cost, labor cost, and overall operating expenses.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Monitor invoices, purchases, payments, and supplier transactions.
- Work closely with the purchasing and operational teams to ensure accurate purchasing records and cost control.
- Monitor inventory movements, stock levels, wastage, and discrepancies.
- Conduct and reconcile regular stock counts.
- Identify financial discrepancies, unusual transactions, and areas of potential loss.
- Ensure all accounting records and documentation are complete, accurate, and properly maintained.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Provide management with accurate financial information and insights to support business decisions.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism when handling financial information.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience as a Restaurant Accountant, Finance Officer, or similar accounting position.
- Strong experience in high end, high volume, or high quality restaurant/hospitality operations.
- Strong understanding of restaurant accounting and financial controls.
- Excellent knowledge of cost control, inventory control, and financial reconciliation.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with operational teams.
- Hands-on, proactive, responsible, and highly organized.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, confidentiality, and professionalism.
