Job description for Radiation Protection Officer (RPO-PPR) at PT Inno Prima Material

Job Overview

As the first responsible person for factory radiation safety, responsible for the whole life cycle radiation protection management of the whole plant's electrical radiation equipment (X-ray thickness gauge, etc.). Ensure compliance with BAPETEN regulations, Indonesian national regulations, and IAEA radiation protection requirements, as the factory and BAPETEN official contact, to protect employees, the public, and the plant environment from radiation safety.

Main job responsibilities

  1. Compliance and licensing management
  • Prepare and update plant radiation protection procedures and safety manuals; Responsible for BAPETEN radiation operation license application, annual review, replacement, complete preparation of the review materials; Receive BAPETEN official on-site inspection, implement rectification items, and close-loop reporting.
  • Establish a plant radiation source/radiation equipment account, and control the whole process of radiation equipment procurement, installation, change, and scrapping.

2. On-site radiation monitoring and control

  • Operate radiation detectors and personal dosimeter systems; Conduct regular workplace radiation surveys to record radiation levels; Manage the personal dose monitoring of all radiation operators, establish a dose file, and report immediately if a dose abnormality is found.
  • On-site inspection of radiation warning signs, shielding protection, and the integrity of interlocking devices; Supervise the proper use of radiation protection PPE, identify radiation risks and implement improvement measures.

3. Training of personnel and occupational health

  • Develop radiation safety training materials and conduct induction/retraining of employees on radiation protection; Retain training records.
  • Manage the occupational health examinations of radiation workers (pre-entry, annual, departure) and establish occupational medical records; Propose the reassignment of staff members who are not fit for the position.

4. Emergency and incident management

  • Prepare emergency plans for radiation accidents and organize annual radiation emergency drills; The occurrence of radiation anomalies, equipment failures, suspected overdose events, to carry out investigations, disposal, record, and report to BAPETEN according to the regulatory deadline.

5. Document reports

  • Report regularly to plant management on the status of radiation safety; Prepare and submit all kinds of periodic reports required by BAPETEN on time (dose reports, annual radiation safety reports, etc.); Maintain all radiation safety files (valid in accordance with BAPETEN regulations).

6. Cross-sectoral synergies

  • Connect with EHS, production, equipment, and maintenance departments; provide radiation protection technical guidance in the renovation, overhaul, and maintenance of radiation equipment.

Qualification:

1. Mandatory qualification (BAPETEN statutory)

  • Holder of RPO-PPR Radiation Protection Officer Competency Certificate + SIB Work Permit issued by BAPETEN, valid for 5 years, subject to regular refresher training.
  • Minimum D3 Diploma in Science / Engineering / Security / Physics related; If you do not have a technical college, you need a D3 degree or above + at least 2 years of industrial K3 safety work experience in Indonesia.
  • In the past 1 year, he has passed the physical examination and meets the physical conditions of the BAPETEN post.

2. Knowledge and Experience

  • Familiar with UU No.10-1997 Nuclear Energy Law, BAPETEN series regulations, and IAEA Radiation Protection Basic Principles.
  • Industrial X-ray equipment (thickness gauge, etc.) factory RPO practical experience is preferred; Experience in lithium / new energy plants is preferred.
  • Can operate radiation measurement instruments, interpret dose monitoring data, and have risk identification capabilities.

3. Language proficiency

  • Fluent reading and writing in Indonesian; Ability to read technical documents in English; Chinese proficiency is an added value and will be prioritized (Chinese factory).

4. Others

Familiar with the EHS system; has the capacity for reporting, internal review, and on-site inspection; Can cooperate with government regulatory inspections.

Report to: Factory EHS Manager; External legal docking: BAPETEN regulatory body.
