Job description for R&D Chemist at Propan Raya Head Office
Responsibilities :
- Conduct formulation, trials, and development of new and existing paint/coating products.
- Perform testing and evaluation of raw materials, formulations, and products according to established standards.
- Conduct reformulation and product improvements to enhance quality, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Perform scale-up of formulations from laboratory to production scale.
- Analyze and resolve product quality issues and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Document trial, testing, and product development results accurately.
- Coordinate with relevant teams to support product development and continuous improvement.
Requirement :
- Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering
- 1–2 years of experience as a Chemist / R&D Staff in chemical or paint manufacturing industries
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply (organizational experience will be an advantage)
- Strong interest in research and product development
- Good analytical thinking, attention to detail, and creativity
- Proactive, active, and highly initiative-driven
- Good English communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Proficient in computer skills, especially Microsoft Office
