PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR (ELECTROPLATING / PLATING SECTION)

We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor for the Electroplating/Plating Section to join PT YKK Zipper Indonesia in Depok, Jawa Barat. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our electroplating and plating department. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for ensuring optimal production efficiency, maintaining strict quality standards, and leading a dedicated team of production operators.

This supervisory role is fundamental to our commitment to delivering high-quality zipper components to our global customers and directly impacts our production targets and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities
• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the electroplating and plating production team to ensure adherence to production schedules and quality standards
• Monitor production output, efficiency metrics, and equipment performance to identify and resolve bottlenecks and operational issues
• Implement and enforce strict safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and environmental compliance regulations within the plating section
• Conduct regular inspections of plated components to verify quality standards and ensure conformance to customer specifications
• Train, mentor, and develop production operators, providing guidance on proper plating techniques and equipment operation
• Manage inventory of chemicals, materials, and supplies required for the electroplating process, ensuring optimal stock levels
• Identify and communicate equipment maintenance requirements to the maintenance team and coordinate repairs to minimise production downtime
• Prepare and maintain detailed production reports, quality records, and documentation for management review
• Collaborate with quality assurance and engineering teams to address quality issues and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Foster a positive work environment, promote team engagement, and address workforce concerns and disciplinary matters as required

What we're looking for
• Minimum 5 years of experience in production supervision or team leadership within a manufacturing environment, preferably in electroplating, metal finishing, or related industrial processes
• Strong knowledge of electroplating, anodising, nickel plating, or similar surface treatment processes and chemistry
• Proven ability to manage and motivate production teams, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Solid understanding of manufacturing quality standards, lean production principles, and continuous improvement methodologies
• Comprehensive knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations, particularly for chemical handling and hazardous materials management
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings, production specifications, and quality standards documentation
• Experience with production planning systems and ability to use data to drive operational decisions
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and implement corrective actions
• Demonstrated commitment to maintaining high safety standards and environmental compliance
• Flexibility to work shifts as required by production schedules
• Preferably, experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment producing components for the automotive or fastening industry
