Activated carbon made from coconut shell is one of the most in-demand industrial materials on the planet — and the African and Asian gold mining sectors can't get enough of it. We're building a production facility in Indonesia from the ground up, and we need the right person to own it.
This isn't a maintenance role. You'll be involved from day one — contributing to machinery design, supervising fabrication at the supplier, then running the full production operation once the plant is live. We are an international manufacturing and trading company with operations across multiple countries, focused on the production and supply of high-grade coconut shell activated carbon for gold mining (CIP/CIL circuits), water treatment, and industrial applications.
Our products are exported to Africa, the GCC, and Asia-Pacific markets. We work to premium specifications — iodine number 1,150–1,200 mg/g, hardness above 98% — and we take quality seriously. Our team is small, international, and moves fast.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Lead the full production cycle — from raw coconut shell charcoal intake through to packaged, export-ready activated carbon — managing quality, yield, and daily output targets.
• Contribute to the design and specification of the production line during the plant build phase, then supervise fabrication and installation directly with our kiln and equipment suppliers.
• Operate and optimise indirect rotary kiln steam activation systems to consistently achieve gold-grade product specifications (iodine number >1,100 mg/g, ball-pan hardness >98%).
• Build and manage the production team — hiring, training, scheduling, and holding the floor accountable to safety and quality standards.
• Contribute to control raw material procurement planning, inventory, and input quality to maintain uninterrupted production flow.
• Report production KPIs, batch quality data, and process improvement recommendations directly to senior management.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

ESSENTIAL — you must have these:
✔ Hands-on experience in an activated carbon production facility that achieved gold-grade output (iodine number >1,100 mg/g) — this is non-negotiable.
✔ Strong practical knowledge of rotary kiln systems — both direct-fired and indirect-fired — with specific experience in steam activation processes.
✔ Proven ability to manage a production team in a manufacturing environment.
✔ Indonesian native speaker or fully fluent — this is the working language on the floor and with local suppliers.
✔ Currently based in Indonesia and able to work on-site in Java.
PREFERRED — these will make you stand out:
◎ Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
◎ Experience contributing to equipment design, kiln specification, or production line commissioning — not just operating an existing system.
◎ Working proficiency in English (for communication with international management and export customers).
◎ Familiarity with coconut shell charcoal as a feedstock and the specific process parameters for achieving high iodine and hardness targets simultaneously.
