Job description for Principal, Kindergarten at Nalacita School
Company Description: Nalacita is a Montessori kindergarten school, opening in Lebak Bulus in 2027. Named after the Sanskrit phrase for "a strong foundation for noble aspiration" Nalacita is proudly family-owned. We operate without corporate bureaucracy, meaning you work directly with the founders and decisions are made quickly. Over the past 25 years, the founders have established schools in underserved areas.
Role Description: Most Head Teacher positions ask you to manage a school that already has a set identity. This role empowers you to create one from the ground up. Long before the physical classrooms are finished, you will design the prepared environment. You will handpick and train the founding team, establish the operating standards for internal and external purposes, and set the educational standard for the first batch who walk through our doors.
Qualifications:
Must have:
✔ Formal Montessori Diploma from a recognized training centre. Short courses and self-study are not accepted
✔ Minimum 4 years as a lead Montessori classroom teacher for children aged 3 to 6, including at least 2 years in a leadership role such as curriculum coordinator or year-level head
✔ Curriculum development experience
✔ Positive attitude and strong drive to advance education in Indonesia
✔ Professional-level Bahasa Indonesia and English. Enough to write to parents, lead a curriculum discussion, and teach confidently in both languages
✔ Willingness and ability to make measured decisions under high-pressure conditions
Great to have:
✔ AMI 3-6 diploma, or MACTE/AMS-accredited certification
✔ Experience at a school that opened or went through a major relaunch in the last 5 years
✔ Strong connection to the Indonesian Montessori community or comparable educator networks
