Job description for Portfolio Manager and Credit Approvals at FLIN
1. Portfolio Management (50%)
A. Portfolio Monitoring & Early Warning Systems
- Own and manage the health and performance of FLIN's loan portfolio.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve Early Warning Trackers (EWT) to proactively identify customers showing early signs of repayment stress.
- Monitor customers who obtain new borrowings during their Dana Talangan repayment tenure and assess the resulting impact on repayment capacity.
- Develop customer segmentation strategies based on repayment behaviour, risk profile, and portfolio performance.
- Perform portfolio analytics, including:
- Vintage Analysis
- Cohort Analysis
- Roll Rate Analysis
- Cure Rate Analysis
- Portfolio Concentration Analysis
- Recommend timely interventions before accounts become delinquent.
B. Client Account Planning & Portfolio Strategy
- Develop account-level action plans for medium and high-risk customers.
- Prioritize customer engagement based on:
- Probability of Default (PD)
- Repayment behaviour
- New loan obligations during Dana Talangan's tenure
- Work closely with the Financial Literacy team to improve customer repayment behavior.
- Collaborate with the Credit and Collections teams to recommend restructuring solutions for customers experiencing genuine financial hardship.
- Continuously balance portfolio quality, customer outcomes, and business profitability.
C. Overdue Portfolio Management
- Monitor overdue accounts and customers who have taken additional financing during the Dana Talangan program.
- Coordinate closely with:
- Credit Analysts
- Collections and Financial Literacy Team
- Recommend restructuring strategies, repayment plans, settlement options, or other account interventions where appropriate.
- Identify systematic portfolio risks and recommend policy enhancements.
2. Credit Approvals (50%)
A. Credit Approval Authority
- Independently assess and approve unsecured lending applications within delegated approval authority.
- Perform comprehensive credit assessment by evaluating:
- Income stability
- Repayment capacity
- Existing debt obligations
- Banking transactions
- Credit bureau reports
- Financial behaviour
- Supporting documentation
- Exercise strong commercial judgment while balancing portfolio quality and business growth.
- Approve, decline, or recommend conditional approvals with well-documented rationale.
- Escalate exceptional or policy deviation cases with clear recommendations.
B. Credit Quality & Decision Governance
- Ensure all approval decisions are consistent with FLIN's credit policies and risk appetite.
- Guide and mentor Credit Analysts on complex cases and credit decision-making.
- Conduct periodic quality reviews of approved applications.
- Identify fraud indicators, document inconsistencies, and emerging credit risks.
- Recommend improvements to credit policies based on portfolio performance and underwriting observations.
- Work closely with Data and Product teams to continuously improve credit decision rules and automation.
3. Data Analytics & Portfolio Intelligence
- Perform deep portfolio analytics to identify emerging trends and hidden risks.
- Analyse customer behaviour using internal and external datasets.
- Build dashboards and management reports for senior leadership.
- Recommend data-driven improvements to portfolio management and credit approval strategies.
- Identify automation opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with:
- Financial Literacy Team
- Collections Team
- Product
- Data
- Engineering
- to ensure alignment between portfolio management, customer outcomes, credit quality, and business objectives.
- Support new product launches by providing portfolio insights and participate in continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree with strong academic credentials and demonstrated academic rigor.
- 7–9 years of experience in one or more of the following:
- Portfolio Management
- Credit Approvals
- Loan Restructuring
- Collections Strategy
- Experience within:
- Fintech
- Digital Lending
- Consumer Finance
- Retail/ SME Banking & Non-Banks
- Proven track record in approving SME/unsecured lending applications.
- Demonstrated experience managing loan portfolios at scale.
- Hands-on experience developing and managing Early Warning Systems.
- Experience restructuring delinquent customer accounts.
- Strong understanding of repayment behaviour and portfolio risk management.
- Excellent analytical capability and sound commercial judgment.
