The Performing Art Teacher is responsible for developing students’ creativity, confidence, self-expression, and communication skills through engaging and structured performing arts learning. This role includes planning and delivering lessons in drama, traditional dance, tari kreasi, theater, percussion, and other performance-based activities, while also preparing students for school performances, showcases, cultural programs, and events. The Performing Art Teacher is expected to create a positive and enjoyable learning environment, encourage active student participation, and collaborate with teachers and school teams to support the school’s holistic education approach.
Job Description:
- Plan and deliver creative and engaging performing arts lessons for students in Elementary & Junior High.
- Develop students’ confidence, creativity, self-expression, communication skills, and active participation through performing arts activities.
- Teach and guide students in performance-based activities such as drama, traditional dance, tari kreasi, theater, percussion, and other related art forms.
- Prepare lesson plans, learning objectives, rehearsal plans, and age-appropriate activities that support student learning and development.
- Lead rehearsals and prepare students for school performances, showcases, cultural programs, and school events.
- Collaborate with homeroom teachers, the Head of Unit, Principal, and Operations team to align performing arts activities with school programs and events.
- Manage classroom dynamics during creative activities and ensure students use performance spaces, instruments, costumes, and props safely and responsibly.
- Document student progress, performance preparation, and learning outcomes through lesson plans, observation notes, reports, and performance records.
Job Requirement
- Educational background or professional experience in performing arts, dance, theater, drama, or a related field.
- Strong creativity, classroom management, communication, and student engagement skills.
- Ability to create lesson plans, learning objectives, and performance-based activities suitable for students’ age and needs.
- Able to work collaboratively, manage time effectively, and adapt to an English-speaking school environment.
