We are excited to announce that the GARDEN OF FIREFLIES is looking for a Pattern Maker to join our growing family. This role will be pivotal in transforming creative designs into precise patterns, ensuring exceptional quality and accuracy in garment production. The Pattern Maker will collaborate closely with the design team, manage the development of prototypes, and maintain a seamless production process. This position will report directly to the Creative Director, contributing to operational excellence and supporting our mission to inspire holistic living.

Job Responsibilities:
Pattern Development:
- Translate design concepts and sketches into precise and accurate patterns for sportswear
- Collaborate with the design team to understand garment specifications, fabric characteristics, and technical requirements
- Develop patterns that consider fit, function, and manufacturing processes
Prototype Creation:
- Create basic concept illustrations using computer software and hand drawing techniques
- Create prototypes and sample garments based on approved patterns
- Transform designer sketches into accurate patterns using paper or fabric
- Make necessary modifications based on fitting sessions
- Work closely with sample sewers and production teams to test and refine patterns during the sampling phase
- Assist in fitting samples to the models
- Produce and fit sample garments to validate pattern accuracy
- Reproduce new clothing models that have samples and can archive designs well
- Pattern Grading: Execute pattern grading to ensure size consistency across the entire sportswear range. Adapt patterns for a range of sizes while maintaining design integrity.
Sizing Guideline:
- Create sizing guidelines for apparel
Production Assistance:
- Oversee the development of prototype samples and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including pattern making, materials sourcing, and testing.
- Ensure all specifications are graded accurately prior to production
- Ensure that manufacturing adheres to approved patterns and incorporates any adjustments.
Others:
- Employ computer-aided design (CAD) tools for pattern creation, data management, and approval tracking.
- Suggest innovative methods for improved garment construction
- Provide timely reports to the Creative Director and team
- Adapt well and perform additional tasks as needed to support team success
- Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or in the process of earning degree in Fashion, Fashion Design, Textile/Fashion Design, Textile Science or anything related to Garments is required
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in technical design and pattern making
- Can work in a detail-oriented manner
- Experience with computer software for drafting
- Proficient sewing skills with the ability to create garment samples
- Have the ability to read and translate fashion design models/sketches.
