Requirements
- 5–8+ years of infrastructure/system administration experience.
- Strong expertise in VMware cluster architecture, vCenter, HA, DRS, vMotion, and lifecycle management.
- Experience with enterprise storage and backup platforms.
- Experience designing HA/DR and business continuity solutions.
- Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code.
- Ability to lead infrastructure migration and upgrade projects.
- Strong incident management and root-cause-analysis skills.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with vendors.
- Technical lead for compute: complex incidents and RCA, OS and hypervisor upgrade planning, OpenStack operations, automation of patching. RHCE and VCP required, OpenStack experience required.
Responsibilities:
- Linux (RHEL and others) and Windows Server administration; VMware (vCenter, NSX), OpenStack (about 2,300 VMs); patching (Red Hat Satellite); server hardware HPE, Cisco UCS, Dell, Lenovo; container host support; OS/node upgrades after the vendor's first-node implementation
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Manage virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere/ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, or KVM.
- Provision and manage virtual machines (VMs), including CPU, memory, storage, and network resources.
- Monitor OS, VM, and infrastructure performance, availability, and capacity.
- Perform OS patching, upgrades, hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and other core Windows services where applicable.
- Manage Linux services, users, permissions, packages, processes, and system configurations.
- Implement and maintain backup, restore, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
- Troubleshoot hardware, OS, virtualization, storage, and network-related incidents.
- Support VM migration, cloning, templates, snapshots, and lifecycle management.
- Maintain system documentation, configuration records, and operational procedures.
- Automate routine administration tasks using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Ansible.
- Work with network, storage, security, cloud, and application teams to resolve infrastructure issues.
- Participate in infrastructure projects, technology upgrades, and capacity planning.
- Follow IT security policies, change-management procedures, and operational best practices.
