Job Description — Import Operations

Position: Import Operations Staff (PT Kemasindo Cepat Nusantara)

Responsibilities:

  • Handle and monitor import shipments from pre-arrival until cargo delivery to the customer.
  • Prepare, check, and process import shipping documents, including:
  • Bill of Lading (B/L)
  • Commercial Invoice
  • Packing List
  • Import Manifest
  • Delivery Order (DO)
  • PIB and supporting customs documents
  • Coordinate with shipping lines, overseas agents, customs brokers, warehouses, trucking vendors, and customers regarding import shipments.
  • Monitor vessel schedules, ETA/ATA, container arrival, discharge, and cargo delivery status.
  • Coordinate with the Customs Clearance team to ensure import documents and customs processes are completed properly and on time.
  • Follow up DO issuance, container release, customs clearance, trucking arrangement, and cargo delivery.
  • Monitor potential additional charges such as demurrage, detention, storage, lift-on/lift-off, and other port-related charges.
  • Communicate shipment status and provide regular updates to customers and internal departments.
  • Check shipping documents and shipment information to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Handle operational issues, delays, discrepancies, and customer complaints related to import shipments.
  • Maintain and update shipment records, operational reports, and import documentation.
  • Ensure all import activities comply with company procedures, customs regulations, and applicable import regulations.
  • Coordinate with the Finance team regarding operational invoices, vendor charges, and customer billing when required.

Qualifications :

  • 1–2 years of experience in Import Operations, Freight Forwarding, Logistics, or Shipping is preferred.
  • Fresh graduates with relevant internship or logistics experience are welcome to apply.
  • Good understanding of import procedures and international shipping processes.
  • Familiar with import documents such as B/L, Invoice, Packing List, Manifest, DO, PIB, and related documents.
  • Familiar with container import operations, vessel schedules, shipping lines, and port processes.
  • Understanding of Customs Clearance and Indonesian import regulations is an advantage.
  • Good communication and coordination skills with customers, vendors, agents, and internal teams.
  • Good English communication skills, especially for emails and shipping documents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, responsible, and able to work under deadlines.
  • Able to handle multiple shipments and operational tasks simultaneously.
  • Willing to work in a fast-paced logistics/freight forwarding environment.
