Job description for Network Engineer at PT Avows Technologies
Requirements:
- Minimum education of a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Having at least 2-3 years of experience as a Network Engineer or Network Administrator at a company level.
- Practical experience in configuring and managing switches at the Core, Distribution, and Access layers.
- Proficient in VLAN concepts and troubleshooting, Inter-VLAN Routing, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP/RSTP), LACP/Trunking, as well as routing protocols (OSPF/BGP).
- Experience in deploying, configuring, and maintaining Wireless Access Points along with Controllers.
- Able to conduct Wi-Fi Site Surveys, analyze frequency interference (2.4 GHz & 5 GHz), handle dead zone issues, do capacity planning, and optimize roaming.
- Mastering enterprise Wi-Fi authentication systems (802.1X, RADIUS, Captive Portal, WPA2/WPA3).
- Skilled in configuring IPsec Site-to-Site VPN, Multi-ISP failover/redundancy at branch offices, traffic shaping, and Policy-Based Routing (PBR).
- Experience in designing, configuring, and managing SD-WAN architecture to connect headquarters with all branch offices.
- Able to manage Traffic Shaping, Policy-Based Routing (PBR), Performance SLA, and failover/load balancing for multi-ISP.
- Expert in performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to solve network issues systematically (OSI Layer method) for latency, packet loss, flapping, or downtime issues.
- Experienced in using data traffic analysis tools like Wireshark and tcpdump, as well as network performance monitoring tools like PRTG and Syslog.
- Experienced in using ticketing systems, meeting Service Level Agreement (SLA) for incidents, and preparing Post-Incident Reports (PIR). Ready and quick to respond to emergency network issues outside of working hours.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design network topologies and configure network devices like routers, switches, firewalls, and Wi-Fi access points according to the company's operational needs.
- Regularly monitor internet connectivity and data traffic to prevent network congestion or downtime.
- Quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues when connection problems occur, such as slow networks, disconnections, or faulty hardware.
- Implement security policies (firewall, VPN, access restrictions) to protect the company's data infrastructure from cyber threats.
- Create documentation of network schemes (topologies) and coordinate with internet service providers (ISPs) or hardware vendors if issues arise with external connections.
