About the role
PT Bening Big Tree Farms is seeking a Micro Lab Staff to join our Laboratory & Technical Services team on a full-time basis. This position is based in Sukoharjo, Central Java and plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality and safety standards of our agricultural products. As Micro Lab Staff, you will be responsible for conducting microbiological testing and analysis to ensure our products meet rigorous quality control requirements. This role is essential to our operations, directly contributing to product excellence and regulatory compliance across our farming operations.
What you'll be doing
- Conducting microbiological tests and analyses on agricultural samples using standard laboratory techniques and equipment
- Preparing culture media, reagents and other laboratory materials according to established protocols
- Recording and documenting all test results, observations and data in laboratory records with accuracy and attention to detail
- Maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy
- Following strict laboratory safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organised work environment
- Assisting senior laboratory staff with more complex microbiological investigations and research projects
- Identifying and reporting any quality issues or deviations from standard procedures to laboratory supervisors
- Collaborating with other laboratory staff to ensure timely completion of testing schedules
- Adhering to all health, safety and environmental regulations within the laboratory setting
What we're looking for
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Laboratory Science, or a related scientific field
- Knowledge of microbiological testing methods and culture techniques relevant to agricultural products
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment such as incubators, autoclaves, microscopes and other standard microbiology instruments
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording and reporting laboratory data
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and laboratory protocols precisely
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a laboratory team environment
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and work with laboratory materials and equipment
- Basic computer skills for data entry and report preparation
- Previous experience working in a laboratory environment is preferred but not essential for candidates with relevant qualifications
- Willingness to undergo training and certification in laboratory safety and quality management systems
