Job description for Merchandise Planner Job at Kasual
- Assist in developing & execute the merchandise strategy including assortment, sales planning, pricing, product development, production calendar and inventory allocation.
- Identifying new product development opportunities based on analysis of sales, consumers, competitors and market trends.
- Work cross-functionally with design, production, sales and marketing team to ensure new products is brought to market timely to achieve net sales and net margin goals
- Approve accuracy of all product information and product knowledge for sales and marketing
- Maintains sample status and checks quality.
- Monitor daily, weekly and monthly sales and stock levels to identify best sellers, slow sellers and big changers to project reproduction.
- Place production order strategically to achieve cost efficient production while ensures effective stock replenishment
- Work production team to deliver consist quality, timely including arranging routine air and ocean shipments.
- Allocate inventories strategically for promotion and sales
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
- 1-3 years merchandising/planning, or equivalent experience in the retail industry preferred.
- Strong understanding of retail math and measure used in financial reporting.
- Ability to create a comprehensive OTB from scratch with no guidance.
- Analytic Skills: Ability to think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data
- Financial and Business Acumen: Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable information to drive results.
- Problem Solving & Decision Quality: Able to use rigorous logic and methods to solve problems with effective solutions
- Relationship Management: Able to build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners, both internally & externally.
- Presentation Skills: Effective in a variety of presentation settings including one-on-one, small and large groups, and with peers and Executives
- Systems and Tools Acumen: Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Excel, Proficiency in PowerPoint and Word. Must also have aptitude to learn technical applications quickly
- Risk Management: Anticipate risks and identifies contingency plans and processes to prevent disruptions when risks occur
