Job description for MEP Estimator at PT. High Quality Construction
Key Responsibilities
- Review project drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documents related to MEP systems.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and low-current systems.
- Develop accurate cost estimates and budgets for MEP works.
- Request, evaluate, and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Prepare tender submissions, bid proposals, and cost breakdowns.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives.
- Coordinate with design, engineering, procurement, and project teams to clarify project requirements.
- Maintain and update cost databases, supplier pricing, and historical project cost records.
- Assist in project budgeting, forecasting, and cost control during project execution.
- Evaluate change orders, variations, and additional work costs.
- Ensure estimates comply with project specifications, company standards, and applicable regulations.
- Participate in site visits and pre-bid meetings when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an MEP Estimator in construction projects.
- Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and ELV systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and quantity take-off software.
- Experience with cost estimation software is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
- MUST UNDERSTAND ENGLISH
