Job description for Material Sourcing Garment Specialist at Produksee
Requirement:
- Degree in merchandising/fashion design/textile management
- 2+ years of experience in the fashion industry with a strong knowledge of fabric development
- Strong technical knowledge of fabric developments, sourcing, and analyzing
- Able to communicate with suppliers (negotiate prices)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong general computer and Excel skills
- Willing to mobile working (survey suppliers)
- Advance skills in English (listening, writing, speaking, and reading) and skills in other languages are plus points
About the Role :
- Understanding of textile materials and garment processes
- Sourcing new materials and other matters related to the procurement of production materials needed by buyers and developing suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Have a good knowledge in garment manufacturing materials, such as: hang tag, yarn, packaging, button, zipper, etc.
- Drawing up the master schedule to establish fabric production sequence and lead time of each production to meet deadline according to orders
- Coordination related to material purchases, including price negotiations, minimum order quantity, and minimum color quantity
