Job description for Mandarin Translator at Sail Global
We are looking for skilled Mandarin Translator / Interpreter (placement: Jakarta, East Java, Central Java, Kalimantan) to facilitate communication between Chinese and Indonesian personnel, ensuring smooth project execution and daily operational activities. The ideal candidate is proficient in Mandarin and Indonesian, has strong technical translation skills, and can work effectively in a multicultural, project-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site Mandarin–Indonesian and Indonesian–Mandarin interpretation during project meetings, technical discussions, and daily operations.
- Translate technical documents, reports, meeting minutes, and other business documents accurately.
- Facilitate communication between Chinese and Indonesian personnel.
- Assist with cross-cultural communication to ensure effective collaboration and minimize misunderstandings between project teams.
- Perform other translation and interpretation duties as required by the project.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or above in Mandarin, Chinese Language, Translation, or a related field. Exceptional candidates with relevant experience may also be considered.
Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and Bahasa Indonesia, with strong listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
At least 1 years of experience in Mandarin translation or interpretation, preferably in industrial or construction projects.
Familiarity with technical terminology related to power plants, mechanical and electrical systems is highly desirable.
Ability to accurately translate technical documents and communicate complex technical information between Chinese and Indonesian teams.
Good interpersonal, communication, and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
Willingness to work on-site and support project activities as required.
