Job description for Lookdev & Lighting Artist at Lumine Studio
Responsibilities:
• Create materials, lighting, and renders for animation or VFX shots.
• Ensure final image quality meets artistic and technical standards.
• Collaborate with Compositing, FX, and Asset teams for seamless integration.
• Troubleshoot and optimize scenes for efficient rendering.
• Contribute to the show’s visual mood and storytelling through light, color, and composition.
Requirements:
• Proficient in shading, lighting, and rendering using Maya or similar software.
• Experience with Renderman, Arnold, or other production renderers.
• Strong grasp of composition, color, light behavior, and render optimization.
• Familiar with AOV setup, texturing, and material workflows.
• Team-oriented, detail-focused, and responsive to feedback.
• Experience with Katana, Nuke, Gaffer, or Houdini is a plus.
• Knowledge of ACES/color management, Python scripting, or real-time engines (Unreal, Unity) is a plus.
Portfolio Requirements:
• Include turntables/surfacing breakdowns and a lighting reel (before/after if available).
• Provide a clear online portfolio link (Vimeo, website, etc.) with proper labeling.
