Job title: Logistics Supervisor (Mandarin Speaker only)
I. Core Responsibilities
This role is responsible for managing the required documents, including the HS code classification, calculating and paying taxes, follow up on the clearance procedures (invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, etc.).
- Compliance and Risk Management: Familiarity with Indonesian regulations and policy updates to mitigate the risk of non-compliance; handling unusual situations such as inspections, detention, and classification disputes.
- Communication and Collaboration: Liaise with customs authorities, freight forwarders, shipping companies, and internal departments to ensure smooth information flow and efficient customs clearance processes.
- Policies and Documentation: Track changes in tariffs and policies; standardize documentation to facilitate audits and reviews.
II. Mandatory Requirements
- Education and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in fields related to international trade, logistics, or supply chain management. Priority given to candidates with a certificate as an Indonesian customs clearance officer (hard requirement).
- Experience Background: 1-3 years of experience in customs clearance and import/export operations in Indonesia, with knowledge of local procedures and tax regulations.
- Language skills: Indonesian and Chinese fluently; proficiency in English is a plus.
- System tools: Proficient in Office; experience with systems such as SAPIERP. Priority given to those with operational experience.
III. Competency and Qualifications
- Expertise: Thorough understanding of HHs codes, origin regulations, and import control lists.
- Efficient response: Quickly address unexpected issues such as inspections and delays, balancing timeliness with costs.
- Precision and thoroughness: Sensitivity to data, zero errors, rigorous control of compliance and tax risks.
- Communication and Stress Resistance: Strong intercultural communication skills, ability to coordinate with multiple parties, and quick adaptation to fast-paced work and overtime.
IV. Additional Strengths
- Experience with large-scale manufacturing, mining, and chemical industry projects in Indonesia, or expertise in customs clearance for specific categories (e.g., commodities, equipment).
- Hold a certificate for international freight forwarding and a certificate related to customs compliance.
- Familiarity with Indonesian and Chinese trade policies (e.g., FORME tariff exemptions).
