Legal & Compliance Supervisor will assist in overseeing the legal and regulatory aspects of the organization, ensuring that all activities comply with applicable laws and NGO-specific regulations. This role will focus on drafting and reviewing legal documents, managing contracts, ensuring compliance with internal policies, and supporting the organization in legal matters, particularly regarding partnerships, grants, and donor relations. The position plays a critical role in protecting the BVT’s legal interests while supporting its mission and strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
Legal Documentation and Review :
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Ensure all documents comply with applicable laws, organizational policies, and donor requirements.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure the organization remains compliant with relevant laws and regulations, including those specific to the NGO sector.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with donor agreements, government grants, and partnership requirements.
- Implement and monitor compliance programs and policies within the organization.
Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate potential legal and regulatory risks in the organization’s activities.
- Support the development of risk management strategies, especially in relation to legal matters, governance, and compliance with international standards.
Partnership and Grant Suppport
- Provide legal support in managing partnerships, including reviewing MOUs and other collaboration agreements.
- Ensure compliance with grant conditions, donor regulations, and international NGO standards.
Internal Policy Development:
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal compliance policies and procedures.
- Ensure all organizational activities align with ethical standards, internal policies, and donor requirements.
Legal Support and Advisory:
- Provide legal advice to different departments, ensuring their activities are aligned with the law.
- Assist with legal audits and provide legal opinions on compliance matters.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB or equivalent) from a reputable university.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in legal and compliance roles, preferably with a focus on the NGO or non-profit sector.
- Strong understanding of legal dispute resolution mechanism. Both domestic and International.
- Preferably has passed the Advocate Professional Examination
- In-depth knowledge of contract law, compliance regulations, and relevant legislation applicable to NGOs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload efficiently.
- Placement in BALI and can join ASAP.
