Job Title: Lead Data Engineer

Information about the role:
The Lead Data Engineer will be responsible for developing and leading the data engineering efforts within our system and projects. This role will require a strong technical background combined with leadership skills to drive innovation and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality data solutions
Key Responsibility
Data Infrastructure Design and Management:
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of scalable and efficient data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions.
Data Integration:
- Oversee the integration of data from various sources, ensuring accessibility, cleanliness, and usability for analytics and decision-making.
Data Modeling:
- Design and maintain optimized data models to support reporting, analytics, and machine learning initiatives.
Performance Optimization:
- Continuously monitor and enhance the performance of data processing systems for low latency and high throughput.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with data scientists and analysts to understand data needs and deliver solutions that drive data-driven decision-making.
Data Governance:
- Implement and enforce data governance policies to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulations.
Team Leadership:
- Mentor and lead a team of data engineers, fostering best practices and a culture of continuous improvement.
Innovation:
- Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and introduce innovative improvements to the data systems.
Data Lake Planning and Implementation:
- Plan and architect a scalable, high-performing, and cost-effective data lake to meet current and future data storage and processing needs.
Requirement
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering with a proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale data pipelines and data lakes.
- Experience leading or mentoring a team of data engineers is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Expertise in data processing frameworks like Apache Spark, Apache Flink, or similar.
- Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake).
- Solid understanding of data lake architectures, including the design and management of data lakes using technologies like AWS Lake Formation, Azure Data Lake, or Google Cloud Storage.
- Experience with data warehousing concepts and databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, columnar storage systems).
- Familiarity with data modeling techniques and tools such as DBT, ER/Studio, or similar.
- Experience with ETL tools such as Apache NiFi, Talend, or custom-built pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle large datasets.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
