About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Legal Staff to support our Legal & Compliance function in the fast-paced payment gateway industry. The role involves drafting and reviewing agreements and legal documents, monitoring relevant regulations from Bank Indonesia, OJK, and PPATK, and supporting regulatory compliance, licensing, and reporting activities. You will also maintain legal records and contract databases, collaborate with internal teams to ensure regulatory alignment, and assist with legal correspondence, dispute handling, and other corporate legal matters.
The responsibilities covering:
- Draft, review, and file merchant agreements, partnership/MOU documents, vendor contracts, and NDAs.
- Monitor and summarize new/updated regulations from Bank Indonesia (BI), OJK, and PPATK relevant to payment systems, e-money, and AML/CFT.
- Assist in preparing compliance reports and licensing/permit documentation (e.g., PJP/PJSP license renewals).
- Maintain the legal document repository and contract database, tracking expiry and renewal dates.
- Liaise with internal teams (Risk, Compliance, Product) to ensure new products/features meet regulatory requirements.
- Support dispute handling, legal correspondence, and coordination with external counsel when needed.
- Assist in employment-related documentation and internal policy drafting as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (S1 Hukum) from a reputable university.
- 0–2 years of professional experience; fresh graduates with relevant internship experience in banking, fintech, or corporate law are welcome.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in litigation processes is preferred.
- Familiarity with Indonesian financial and payment system regulations, including UU PDP, POJK, PBI, and AML/CFT regulations, is a strong advantage.
- Willingness to travel out of town for business trips.
Skills Required
- Strong legal drafting and legal research skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to manage multiple documents and deadlines effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with contract management tools is a plus.
