Job Responsibilities
- Support analysis of land-use change and sustainability risks using remote sensing and GIS tools.
- Help maintain and update geospatial databases of plantations, mills, and refineries using both spatial and tabular data sources.
- Prepare and organize data for grievance and traceability reporting on Palmoil.io.
- Conduct research and data cleaning related to company profiles, supply chains, and environmental performance.
- Assist with the preparation of client and partner reports, visualizations, and datasets.
- Coordinate data updates and documentation with the Sustainability and Geospatial Programs Manager
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Forestry, Data Science, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in GIS, remote sensing, or sustainability data management (internship or entry-level acceptable).
- Familiarity with QGIS or ArcGIS, and basic raster data processing.
- Competence with Excel/Google Sheets, and ideally experience with tools like Airtable or other databases.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Intermediate English (B1 or higher) — able to communicate clearly with global teammates.
- Enthusiasm for sustainability, responsible sourcing, and environmental monitoring.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Junior Data Analyst to join our growing Jakarta-based team. This position is ideal for someone early in their career who is passionate about geospatial data, sustainable sourcing, and rainforest protection.
You will support our analysts and project managers with data collection, quality control, mapping, and reporting tasks related to sustainability monitoring and traceability in commodity supply chains. Over time, you will take on more complex analytical and project coordination responsibilities as you grow within the organization.
