We are looking for a Data Science Instructor who is passionate about data, technology, and education to help students develop practical, industry-ready skills.

Job Description

• Develop curriculum and teaching materials covering Data Analytics, Data Science, and foundational Data Engineering.

• Create daily teaching materials, assignments, projects, and detailed assessment rubrics.

• Conduct research on industry requirements, in-demand skills, and current trends in the data field.

• Deliver engaging lessons and live coding sessions based on Hacktiv8 teaching standards.

• Explain complex data concepts in a simple and understandable way.

• Assist students in troubleshooting technical issues and resolving errors in assignments.

• Provide constructive and detailed feedback on student assignments and projects.

• Conduct 1-on-1 mentoring or evaluation sessions for students who need additional support.

• Provide additional learning resources to strengthen students’ understanding.

• Support alumni by providing guidance and perspectives on data-related challenges when needed.

• Recommend relevant tools and improvements to support effective learning activities.

• Collaborate with instructors, SMEs, and cross-functional teams to continuously improve curriculum and teaching quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM, IT, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Data Analytics, Data Science, or Business Intelligence.

• Experience in fintech, telecommunications, banking, or logistics is a plus.

• Experience developing learning materials or teaching in a bootcamp or academic environment is preferred.

• Strong understanding of end-to-end data workflows, including data preparation, analysis, modeling, visualization, and deployment.

• Strong programming and data science skills, particularly Python with pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, Matplotlib, and Seaborn.

• Strong SQL skills and familiarity with NoSQL databases.

• Understanding of ETL workflows and foundational data pipelines.

• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker Studio.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is preferred.

• Familiarity with Git/GitHub, command-line tools, version control, and basic CI/CD workflows.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business problems into data-driven solutions.

• Familiarity with modern data workflows and reproducible analytics/model development practices.

• Strong teaching and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.

• Demonstrated ability to design engaging lessons, conduct live coding sessions, and evaluate student performance through projects and code reviews.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple curriculum or data projects.

• Collaborative mindset and willingness to work with instructors, SMEs, and cross-functional teams.
