Job description for High School Science Teacher at Yayasan Tunas Blossom
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons in accordance with the school curriculum and learning objectives.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, activities, experiments, and assessments.
- Explain scientific concepts clearly and relate them to real-life applications.
- Encourage students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, inquiry, and analytical skills.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate students with different learning abilities and needs.
2. Laboratory & Practical Activities
-Conduct safe and appropriate laboratory experiments and practical activities.
-Ensure students follow laboratory safety procedures and use equipment responsibly.
- Prepare and maintain laboratory materials and equipment in coordination with the relevant staff.
- Report any damaged, missing, or unsafe equipment or materials.
3. Assessment & Student Progress
- Develop quizzes, tests, projects, assignments, and other forms of assessment.
- Monitor and evaluate students’ academic progress.
- Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their learning.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student grades and academic records.
- Provide additional support or remedial activities for students who require assistance.
4. Classroom Management
- Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with school policies and procedures.
- Promote students’ responsibility, discipline, collaboration, and respect for others.
5. Student Support & Communication
- Provide guidance and support to students regarding their academic development.
- Communicate students’ progress and concerns with parents when required.
- Work closely with homeroom teachers, coordinators, and other teachers to support students’ overall development.
6. Professional Responsibilities
-Attend staff meetings, training sessions, workshops, school events, and other activities as required.
-Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum planning and school programs.
-Maintain professional conduct and comply with all school policies and procedures.
-Continuously develop professional knowledge and teaching skills.
-Perform other duties and responsibilities reasonably assigned by the School Management.
