Job description for Head of IT Engineering at PT Green City Traffic
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Recruit, mentor, develop a high-performing engineering team, and establish modern SDLC, governance, and technical best practices.
2. Drive the adoption of AI-assisted software development and coding tools to continuously improve engineering productivity and reduce defects.
3. Define the software architecture strategy, designing scalable, secure, and reliable systems while optimizing performance and maintainability.
4. Implement robust Code Review, CI/CD, Automated Testing, Release/Incident Management, and track Engineering Metrics.
5. Manage project prioritization, resource planning, and hands-on technical problem-solving (including architecture design and code review).
6. Transform the current engineering team (14 engineers covering Product, BE, FE, Flutter, QA) into a highly productive AI-native organization.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or a related discipline.
2. Minimum 5-8 years of solid software engineering experience, with at least 3+ years leading engineering teams.
3. Fluent in English. Upper-Intermediate level is highly welcome to apply.
4. Preferably available to join immediately or within a short notice period.
5. Willing to work Monday–Friday (09:00–18:00) and Saturday half-day (09:00–13:00).
6. Mandatory prior experience building or operating large-scale Internet platforms (Ride-Hailing, E-commerce, Logistics, Fintech, Payment, or SaaS).
7. Hands-on experience managing engineering teams of 10+ engineers and building engineering processes from scratch.
8. Mastery of Tech Stack: Java, Go, Node.js, Flutter, MySQL, Redis, Linux, Docker, Cloud Deployment, and Microservices.
9. Strong hands-on experience using and integrating AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI API, Gemini, DeepSeek, Anthropic API, MCP, and AI Agent frameworks) into workflows.
10. Excellent technical decision-making, coaching, mentoring, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration.
Highly Desirable (Big Plus):
1. Advanced expertise in transforming traditional software engineering teams into AI-assisted development teams.
2. Experience handling complex system architecture transitions (e.g., ongoing Java to Go migration).
3. Deep understanding of modern cloud computing, automated testing workflows, and high-frequency deployment environments.
