Head of Collections & Recovery Strategy
PT Karya Rekrut Utama (KRU) is currently hiring on behalf of one of our clients in the financial services industry.
We are looking for an experienced Head of Collections & Recovery Strategy to lead end-to-end collection and recovery initiatives, optimize portfolio performance, and drive strategic improvements across collection operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute end-to-end collection and recovery strategies to maximize portfolio performance and recovery rates.
- Design data-driven collection strategies based on delinquency stages, customer segments, and asset portfolios.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), including Recovery Rate, Roll Rate, Cure Rate, Collection Effectiveness, and overall portfolio performance.
- Lead strategic recovery initiatives through restructuring programs, settlement schemes, legal recovery, collateral realization, and auction processes.
- Collaborate with Business, Legal, Asset Management, Operations, and Auction teams to accelerate asset recovery.
- Develop and maintain collection policies, operational procedures, and governance frameworks in compliance with applicable regulations and industry best practices.
- Oversee collection analytics, forecasting, budgeting, and executive portfolio performance reporting.
- Evaluate and optimize collection channels, including Desk Collection, Field Collection, Legal Recovery, and Third-Party Collection Agencies.
- Drive operational efficiency through automation, digital collection initiatives, and predictive analytics.
- Lead, coach, and develop high-performing Collection & Recovery teams while fostering a performance-driven culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Statistics, Law, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Collections, Recovery, Asset Management, Special Asset Management (SAM), Credit Risk, or Non-Performing Loan (NPL) management within Banking, Multifinance, or Asset Management industries.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a managerial or department head role leading strategic collection and recovery functions.
- Strong understanding of collection lifecycle management, debt recovery, loan restructuring, collateral recovery, litigation, and auction processes.
- Proven experience in portfolio segmentation and collection optimization strategies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into business strategies.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and third-party collection agencies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with Collection Management Systems and data analytics tools is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial services regulations and compliance standards.
- AFPI Collection/Field Collection Certification is an advantage.
