Job description for head engineering at Luma Restaurant
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Head of Engineering to oversee all technical
operations and maintenance across our facilities. This is a leadership role suited to someone
with a strong background in managing diverse systems, including kitchen equipment,
electrical, plumbing, IT, and sound.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, manage, and develop the engineering and maintenance team
* Oversee all technical systems including kitchen equipment, electrical, plumbing, IT,
and audio/sound systems
* Plan and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure smooth daily
operations
* Quickly troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across all areas
* Ensure all systems meet safety, compliance, and operational standards
* Coordinate closely with operations and management teams to support business needs
* Manage maintenance budgets, supplier relationships, and procurement of parts and
equipment
* Establish and maintain clear systems, documentation, and reporting processes
* Continuously improve efficiency, reliability, and organization of all engineering
functions
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a senior engineering or maintenance role (hospitality, F&B, or
similar environment preferred)
* Strong knowledge across multiple disciplines: electrical, plumbing, kitchen
equipment, IT, and sound systems
* Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams
* Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
* Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across departments
* Hands-on, proactive approach with attention to detail
* Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Preferred:
* Experience in restaurants, hospitality groups, or multi-site operations
* Experience setting up maintenance systems and SOPs
* Technical certifications or relevant qualifications
