Job description for General Manager at Kloud Connect
We are HIRING: General Manager – Convenience Store Network (Medan, Sumatra)
Our client is rapidly expanding convenience store network in Sumatra, targeting aggressive growth in the next three years. To lead this journey, we seek a dynamic General Manager to oversee operations from Medan, working closely with Deputy GMs for Operations and Store Development. This role reports to the board and requires strong leadership, cultural adaptability, and retail expertise.
𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀
• 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽: Drive growth, oversee expansion plans, and align strategies with the board and deputies.
• 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀: Optimize product mix, analyze market trends, and lead business development initiatives.
• 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Plan and execute regional expansion, including location acquisition.
• 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: Ensure efficient processes, superior customer experience, and KPI achievement across stores.
• 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Build and mentor high-performing teams, fostering a positive work culture.
• 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁: Manage budgets, monitor KPIs, and implement cost-saving initiatives.
𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Business, Retail Management, or related field.
• 10+ years in retail/FMCG leadership, with 5+ years in senior roles.
• Expertise in merchandising, operations, and multicultural settings.
• Based in Medan, with regional travel as needed.
𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗱:
• Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English; Mandarin is a plus.
- Familiarity with Sumatra's market dynamics.
