General Manager at Nord Nest
Kintamani, Bali • Full time • On site
Nord Nest is a boutique hotel in Kintamani combining individual guest cabins, a spa and a restaurant. We are seeking a General Manager to take responsibility for the commercial performance, team and service quality of the entire property.
Your core mission is to deliver occupancy and financial targets in line with the business plan, while ensuring a consistently high level of guest satisfaction throughout the stay.
Occupancy and commercial performance
• Own occupancy, average daily rate (ADR), revenue per available room (RevPAR), and revenue across accommodation, spa and restaurant operations.
• Manage rates, room availability, seasonal offers and distribution channels; grow direct bookings and sales partnerships.
• Oversee OTAs, including Booking.com and Airbnb, the PMS and channel manager; maintain listings and monitor enquiry handling, conversion and cancellations.
• Work with marketing to plan campaigns and assess booking and revenue results; monitor demand, competitors and booking pace.
• Grow spa and restaurant sales and stay packages. Identify gaps against the business plan and implement corrective actions.
Operations and guest experience
• Coordinate front office, housekeeping, maintenance, spa and restaurant teams; oversee the guest journey from initial enquiry to check out.
• Recruit, train and develop the local team; define responsibilities, organise schedules and follow up on execution.
• Implement service standards and SOPs; maintain cleanliness, cabin readiness, grounds, safety and service quality across the property.
• Personally handle escalated guest issues, manage reviews and resolve the causes of recurring complaints.
• Control budgets, purchasing, inventory, contractors and operating costs; maintain P&L reporting and provide regular updates to the owners.
• Manage local supplier and community relationships, including the banjar, and ensure compliance with applicable operational requirements.
Essential requirements
• Fluent Bahasa Indonesia and strong working English for guest and owner communication and reporting. Russian is not required.
• At least 3 years as a General Manager, Hotel Manager or Resort Manager with responsibility for the property as a whole.
• Direct experience managing a property with accommodation, an operating restaurant and a spa at the same time. All three must have been within your management remit.
• Demonstrable results in occupancy, revenue, cost control and service quality; practical revenue management, budgeting and P&L skills.
• Hands-on experience with OTAs, a PMS and a channel manager, plus recruitment and management of local teams in Indonesia.
• Understanding of local hotel operations, including suppliers, staff scheduling, hygiene and safety, and community relationships.
• Willingness to work on site in Kintamani on a daily basis. This is an on-site management position.
Preferred experience
• Bali hospitality experience, boutique hotel or resort openings, growth of direct bookings, and service delivery for international guests.
Performance measures and terms
• Key measures: occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, revenue by business area, operating profit, budget control and guest review scores.
• Direct access to the owners and the opportunity to shape the team, processes and development of the property. Compensation and terms will be discussed based on experience.
How to apply
Submit your CV in English and brief answers to the following questions through the job platform application form:
1. Which properties have you managed? Include names, website or Booking.com / Google Maps links, your roles and employment dates.
2. Which properties had both a restaurant and a spa? Describe your personal responsibility for all three business areas, room count and team size.
3. Share 2–3 measurable achievements with the period and starting point: occupancy, ADR, revenue, profit or guest review scores. Ranges and percentage changes are acceptable.
4. State your current location, willingness to work in Kintamani, earliest start date, English level and expected monthly salary in IDR, specifying gross or net.
Property links and evidence of management responsibility for accommodation, restaurant and spa operations are required for initial screening. Villa rental experience alone, or experience limited to a restaurant or spa, does not meet the requirements. Professional references will be requested at a later stage.
