Job description for Freelance Forestry at Nol Karbon
- Manage day-to-day operations of projects, ensuring timely delivery, resource allocation, and budget adherence. This includes initiating projects, preparing Project Design Documents (PDD), and overseeing the verification process.
- Utilize research skills and deep technical knowledge in forestry to analyze project data. Assess carbon sequestration potential and identify optimization opportunities. Proficient in using GIS to analyze land area and land cover data.
- Analyze and interpret data to quantify carbon emissions reductions and develop carbon credit methodologies that comply with certification standards.
- Conduct field visits and assessments to verify project eligibility, evaluate carbon credit data, and oversee project implementation.
- Mentor and guide Associates and/or Project Support staff, supporting their professional development and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including monitoring plans, verification reports, project proposals, and end-to-end carbon credit and monitoring reports. Collaborate with Project Support staff in creating these documents.
- Establish effective communication with external stakeholders, such as project partners, government agencies, and auditors. Ensure project compliance and facilitate collaboration among stakeholders.
- Demonstrate thought leadership and networking skills by representing Nol Karbon in various forums, conferences, and events. Present on behalf of the organization to showcase expertise and establish strategic partnerships.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in forestry or other relevant majors
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in forestry
- Minimum 1 year of international exposure (studying overseas or working in a global team)
- Highly skilled in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and proficient in calculating carbon emissions
- Minimum 1 year of field work experience in the forestry sector. Emphasis on carbon-related activities.

- Strong communication & interpersonal skill to work in a team
- Resilience and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- High sense of ownership and intrinsic motivation
