Forging Process Engineer

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field
2. Minimum 3–5 years experience in forging, material, or metallurgical engineering
3. Strong knowledge of steel metallurgy (carbon steel & alloy steel)
4. Experience with forging materials such as ASTM A105, A182, A216
5. Understanding of heat treatment processes and metallurgical transformations
6. Familiar with ASTM, ASME, API, ISO standards
7. Experience in mechanical testing (tensile, hardness, impact) and microstructure evaluation
8. Good analytical and problem-solving skills
9. Able to communicate in English (technical documentation and discussion)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop, optimize, and control forging processes (hot forging / cold forming / upsetting)
2. Define and control material and metallurgical requirements for forged components
3. Analyze and prevent forging defects such as cracks, laps, folds, and underfill
4. Support and define heat treatment processes (normalizing, quenching & tempering, stress relieving)
5. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for material and forging non-conformities
6. Review and interpret material certificates (MTC) and metallurgical test reports
7. Support QA/QC activities, audits, and customer technical clarifications
8. Prepare technical documentation including SOPs, work instructions, and metallurgical reports
9. Collaborate with production, quality, tooling, and R&D teams for process improvement
