Position Summary:
The Production Foreman is responsible for ensuring smooth operational flow, implementing continuous improvement programs, and applying the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) system to optimize production efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Achieve all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set by the company.
- Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) metrics.
- Plan and oversee production schedules to meet targets.
- Address and resolve customer complaints effectively.
- Control raw material usage and production output per shift.
- Maintain high-quality production standards.
- Manage inventory layout for raw materials and finished products.
- Oversee training for new employees in the assigned production line.
- Evaluate and enhance employee competency standards in the assigned line.
- Implement continuous improvement programs as directed by management.
- Coordinate with maintenance (preventive, planned, and breakdown) and warehouse teams (handover of finished products).
Core Duties:
- Lead daily employee briefings.
- Ensure 5S/5R standards are maintained in the assigned production area.
- Plan and control manpower allocation in the production line.
- Prepare daily reports and actualize PICA (Problem Identification, Correction, and Analysis) for production.
- Calculate and document Work Standardization Tables (TSK) and Combined Work Standardization Tables (TSKK) to determine cycle time and takt time.
- Ensure production operators adhere to SOPs and Work Instructions (WI).
- Monitor daily stock levels of raw materials and finished products.
- Control the movement of raw materials and finished products, ensuring compliance with SOPs.
- Evaluate daily production results and report to superiors.
- Implement continuous improvement programs in line with company plans.
- Ensure accuracy of daily administrative tasks and data entry into the production database.
- Act as the leader for Autonomous Maintenance initiatives.
- Monitor cleaning and preventive maintenance checklists.
- Assist in creating daily and weekly work plans.
- Manage Kanban and Henkaten boards for efficient workflow.
Required Competencies:
- Proficient in using Google Forms and Google Sheets for production administration.
- Experienced with Warehouse Management Systems for inventory control.
- Familiar with implementing Suggestion Systems and Quality Control Circles.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems (e.g., timing belts, gearboxes, bearings, sprockets, MCBs).
- Experience with grinders and slide regulators.
- Knowledge of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
- Experience in applying at least one of the following programs: 5S, K3 (Occupational Safety and Health), or Preventive Maintenance Systems.
Challenges:
- Flexible working hours due to three-shift operations and potential machine issues, which may require working beyond 7 hours.
- Physically demanding tasks, including lifting glass (~25 kg per sheet).
- Working in a production system that may require significant improvements, with the expectation of playing a key role in establishing nationally standardized production processes.
