Job description for Finance and Accounting Officer at Widya Erti Indonesia

Objective:

Under the supervisions of Finance Manager to ensure the accuracy and integrity of an organization's financial records, manage financial transactions efficiently, maintain compliance with regulations, and provide accurate financial data to support sound business decision-making and maintain the organization's financial health

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under direct supervision of and reports to Finance Manager, s/he will be responsible for managing daily business activities including Finance and Accounting.

Specific responsibilities of Finance and Accounting Officer include but are not limited to:

  1. Consolidate Financial Report from all projects and prepare organization’s overall financial statements
  2. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and external stakeholders.
  3. Manage and maintain the organization’s integrated Chart of Accounts (CoA) to ensure consistency across all projects and financial reports,
  4. Manage all Head Office financial transactions including operational expenses, procurement payments, and perform regular cash and bank reconciliations
  5. Prepare financial data and supporting documents for internal and external audits including implement and document follow-up actions on audit findings.
  6. Process and monitor invoices to clients, and track receivables and payables.
  7. Calculate, deduct, and remit all applicable taxes in compliance with national regulations including prepare and submit monthly and annual tax reports, and support tax audits or reviews.
  8. Record and monitor foreign currency transactions and exchange rate.
  9. Maintain and regularly update the organization’s asset register for Head Office including record acquisitions, disposals, and depreciations; coordinate periodic physical asset verification.
  10. Maintain up-to-date aging reports and ensure timely collections and disbursements.
  11. Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure all transactions are properly documented, coded and using aligned with standard accounting and donor requirements
  12. Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant reporting aligned with accounting standards and donor requirements.
  13. Support the implementation of internal control mechanisms and compliance with WEI’s SOPs.
  14. Provide technical guidance to project finance staff on financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
  15. Contribute to building a culture of transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance team

Selection Criteria (Qualification):

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or professional certification is an advantage).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, audit. Preferably within and NGO, foundation, or donor-funded projects environment.
  • Strong knowledge in financial management and financial accounting, including accounting principles and standards (IFRS, PSAK), financial statements, audit processes, and tax regulations and compliance.
  • Familiarity with ERP/accounting software.
  • Attention to detail (detailed-oriented), highly organized, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism in handling financial information.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
  • Proficient in MS Office.

Desirable:

Experienced in preparing financial reports in NGOs / Foundations and conducting internal audits
