A Cook Helper, also known as a kitchen helper or food prep assistant, assists cooks and chefs in preparing food and maintaining a clean kitchen environment. They perform tasks like washing and peeling vegetables, cutting and prepping meats, assisting with dishwashing, and ensuring the kitchen is tidy and organized.
Key Responsibilities of a Cook Helper:
Food Preparation:
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, cutting, and slicing vegetables, fruits, and meats.
Dishwashing and Cleaning:
Washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment, as well as cleaning the kitchen floor and work areas.
Stocking and Organizing:
Restocking food supplies, cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment and utensils, and organizing kitchen supplies.
Supporting Cooks:
Assisting chefs with various tasks as needed, including serving food, preparing ingredients, and following recipes.
Maintaining a Clean Environment:
Ensuring the kitchen is clean, organized, and free of clutter.
