Job description for Facility Engineer at Nityo Infotech
Our client is a leading Data Center company providing mission-critical infrastructure and facilities services. We are currently looking for a Facility Engineer to join the facilities team and support the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of data center facilities.
This is a permanent position directly under the client company, with an opportunity to grow within a professional and dynamic data center environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise Facilities Technicians in the operation and maintenance of 24x7 mission-critical data center facilities to ensure service levels and operational standards are consistently achieved.
- Support and act as a Project Engineer for addition, alteration, improvement, and modification works for new and existing customers.
- Manage contractors and service vendors involved in the operation, maintenance, repair, and improvement of mission-critical facilities.
- Respond to facility emergencies and coordinate Facilities Technicians and service vendors to restore system availability and maintain required service levels.
- Develop, review, and continuously improve Operation & Maintenance (O&M) requirements, procedures, and programs in collaboration with internal stakeholders and service vendors.
- Monitor and evaluate vendor performance and prepare regular reports for the management team.
- Participate in ISO certification processes, internal audits, and external audits related to facility operations.
- Maintain and regularly update accurate inventories of facilities, equipment, apparatus, tools, and other relevant assets.
- Lead, coach, and train technicians to ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), escalation procedures, incident management, and change management procedures.
- Support the reporting manager in the administration and day-to-day management of the facilities team.
- Work according to a shifting schedule of 6 days on and 2 days off, including weekends and public holidays, with an 8-hour working period per day.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Higher Diploma in Building Services, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of 24x7 mission-critical facilities, preferably within a data center or similar critical infrastructure environment.
- Strong understanding of facilities operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Good teamwork, project management, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work effectively in a shift-based and full onsite environment.
- Strong sense of responsibility with the ability to coordinate technicians, contractors, and vendors effectively.
