Position Summary
The Engineering Staff is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the proper operation of all hotel facilities, equipment, and systems. This role plays a vital part in providing a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for guests and employees by performing preventive maintenance and responding promptly to maintenance requests.
Key Responsibilities
Perform daily inspections of hotel facilities and equipment.
Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, mechanical, and other hotel systems.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and departments.
Repair and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
Monitor and maintain generators, pumps, water systems, and other utility equipment.
Ensure guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities are maintained in good condition.
Maintain records of maintenance activities and repairs.
Follow hotel safety procedures and engineering standards.
Assist with renovation projects and installation of new equipment when required.
Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers when necessary.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the engineering workshop and storage areas.
Report any major maintenance issues to the Engineering Supervisor or Chief Engineer immediately.
Support energy-saving and sustainability initiatives within the hotel.
Ensure compliance with local regulations regarding safety, electrical systems, and building maintenance.
Qualifications
Minimum Diploma or Vocational School in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field.
Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar position, preferably in the hospitality industry.
Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, and general building maintenance.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems efficiently.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
Strong sense of responsibility, discipline, and attention to detail.
