The primary purpose of the EHS & QMS Officer role is to enhance workplace safety and quality management by improving employee awareness and compliance with safety protocols, conducting regular inspections and audits, providing training on emergency response and safety procedures, and ensuring that all safety equipment and signage are properly maintained.
The role also involves developing emergency response teams and committees, organizing safety meetings and simulations, identifying potential hazards, and aligning company policies with government regulations. Additionally, the officer supports P&C administrative tasks and contributes to the continuous improvement of EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) and QMS (Quality Management System) programs.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Improve employee awareness of the importance of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Ensuring, checking, and conducting monthly inspections regarding the feasibility and availability of PPE and work safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, first aid, etc.
Ensuring the safety sign at the work site has been installed properly.
Provide EHS training to workers such as using fire extinguishers, first aid, emergency response, etc.
Monitoring the implementation of SOP has been carried out properly by all employees.
Develop and set up Emergency Respond Team (ERT) and EHS & QMS Committee.
Routine inspection of impacts and hazards in the work carried out.
Implement and create an EHS & QMS Meeting program every month.
Organize and lead emergency simulations every month so that when an emergency occurs you can anticipate it.
Coordinating a safe work permit/work permit has been carried out in each work unit, especially contractors.
Can solve problems, investigate, audit, and provide input for EHS & QMS Improvement.
Identify and map potential hazards that may occur in the work environment.
Create and maintain EHS & QMS-related documents.
Create an idea related to the EHS & QMS program.
Evaluate the possibility or chance of an accident incident that could occur.
Become a liaison between government regulations and company policies.
Administrator HR and assist for program of HR Dept.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE/DESIRABLES:
Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) and QMS (Quality Management System) roles.
Experience in conducting safety audits, inspections, and emergency response planning.
Strong understanding of workplace safety regulations and standards, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Knowledge of fire safety, first aid, emergency response, and other safety protocols.
Familiarity with QMS principles and the ability to maintain and improve quality management systems.
Experience in providing EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) training to employees, including fire extinguisher use, first aid, and emergency response.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to raise awareness about safety practices and ensure compliance among all employees.
Ability to identify and assess potential hazards in the workplace and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
Experience in conducting incident investigations, audits, and providing recommendations for EHS & QMS improvements.
Experience in developing and leading Emergency Response Teams (ERT) and EHS & QMS Committees.
Ability to organize and lead emergency drills and simulations, ensuring readiness for actual emergencies.
Familiarity with government regulations related to occupational safety and the ability to align company policies with these regulations.
Experience in creating and maintaining documentation related to EHS & QMS programs and initiatives.
Experience in administrative tasks, including the coordination of safe work permits and supporting HR department programs.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, including both EHS & QMS duties and HR-related tasks.
