Job description for Economics Teacher – IB Diploma Programme (DP) at SMA Global Darussalam Academy
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the well-being and holistic development of students in line with the IB Learner Profile.
- Deliver engaging Economics lessons aligned with the IB DP syllabus (HL & SL).
- Conduct lessons, co-curricular activities, curriculum reviews, and exam preparation (setting, marking, moderation) in accordance with IB assessment criteria.
- Guide and mentor students in the completion of Internal Assessments (IA) and Extended Essay (EE) components.
- Foster a positive, inquiry-based, and interactive learning environment that encourages critical thinking.
- Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders, including colleagues, parents, and the IB Coordinator.
- Actively participate in school events, CAS activities, and continuous professional development workshops.
- Ensure consistent assessment through standardisation and moderation in line with IB DP criteria.
Requirements:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Education, or a related field.
- A teaching qualification from an accredited teacher-training institution will be an advantage.
- Strong command of written and spoken English (academic proficiency).
- Experienced in teaching Economics at the IB DP, A-Level, or equivalent international curriculum.
- Familiarity with IB DP assessment standards, Internal Assessment (IA) moderation, and academic honesty policies is highly desirable.
- Strong classroom management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
